Cumulus Lupulus. Terrapin Beer Co. Athens, GA.
Style: Imperial IPA
Commercial Description: This Imperial IPA is unfiltered to showcase its translucent beauty. Brewed with over four pounds of hops per barrel for a luscious tropical hop flavor and aroma, this hazy and resinous brew will keep your head in the clouds.
Appearance: Deep golden orange, slight haze, and a moderate fluffy white head. Aroma: Candied, tropical fruit hop notes, mostly mango and pineapple. No noticeable maltiness. A touch of floral hops as well. Taste: Caramel maltiness with pineapple, grass, light citrus, and resinous bitterness that is strong but well balanced. Juicy. Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a slight creaminess and light to moderate carbonation. Finish: Bitterness is dominant but has a nice candied fruitiness that lingers. Overall: A really well-balanced IPA, not quite the hazy New England type, as stated on the packaging. Nice fruity pineapple character softens the harsh edges of the bitterness and leads to a very easy drinking beer at this ABV and IBU. Best to wait til the swimming is done unless you can keep it to one...
